I ,Barry Kostrinsky was born in NYC on 6/13/60 and grew up in Westchester County. I graduated Vassar with a BA, majoring in Mathematics in 1982 but studied art history and studio art as well. I have loved both math and art since I was young. Haven Arts Gallery is a culmination of my dreams and united a community of artists in the South Bronx from 2004-now. As owner and founder I do the little and the big things as all responsibility is ultimately mone. I have a director JC Rice and Carol Zakaluk, my do everything girl. Previous to haven I worked for over 20 years in my family metal working company, Grand Silver Co. in the South Bronx. I love working and developing haven and hope it grows. Interns are both young students to us that we can engage in an arts project and teach and they are helpers, do it all kind of folk that sense the flavor of the many different duties in running an art gallery. Inters, such as Johanfry have helped an artist install and assemble large scale sculpture. Stay and study as much as you can in school and get as least a college degree. But know why you are learning what you are learning and choose carefully the thoughts and things you choose to gather into your world as they will inprint themselves on you and you will become them. The daily post synthesis
The week before vacations I was fixing and putting piece of work around the wall and try to fix the area on were the work of art were horizontals and she said that we had to change it because they could stick to each other over the summer and so columba and me we started to do that. We started to put them horizontal and after we had finish that we get to started another thing that we usually do a lot of time and is to put information on flayer that supposted to be giving to people we spent there3 like for a lot of time and we are still doing it sometimes hen she needs us to do it and we do it all. until we started to do another assiment on the bronx that thing was popping something that i had a long time i dint do and is to do spray painting that thing was popping, we spent doing that for one day but it was something new on intership semminar, and fo the first time on my live of the intership i like it that thing was fun and unforgetiable, i will always remenber that day. another project that i did do is to make a piece of art but for myself and i did and it was good i like it alot and i enjoy it because i get to express and show what can i do fro myself.
